about

This was another song that I had for years and had forgotten about. I wrote this when I was 20 and had just come home for the summer holidays after 1st year in Uni. That was the summer I started writing as Far Caspian and was one of the first songs I ever wrote.

I completely forgot about it and then one day when I was recording the album I was talking to a friend on Facebook and down the side of the page I could see all the attachments I had sent him over the years. I decided to download them all and have a listen with the intention of having a laugh but ended up finding this tune. I probably wouldn’t write the same lyrics now and was contemplating re-writing it but I decided to keep it the way it was as I thought it would be interesting to have a song that I actually write when I was younger on the record seeing as the rest of the songs focus on nostalgia.

lyrics

See these plans I’ve made for you
See you smiling, what a view
If we close our eyes then
That’s all we can do
I don’t know what this presence is
But all of me has entered in
Im seeing now the things that
Could tell us how to dim

Let me lean on God
Let me wait for love

Out of space isnt far away
We could go there in march or may
Then id be closer to the things that are in my head
Faith restored from start to end
She smiles politely to her friend
This is all I needed
To feel something new again

Let me lean on God
Let me wait for love

Oh, it took long enough to mend
I keep falling off
Was it something that I said?
Its so easy to judge

Let me lean on God
Let me wait for love
