about

This was the first time I wrote with someone else. I wrote this song with Henry Moser (Henry Nowhere) over zoom. I was a big fan of his work and at that point was struggling to get enough songs together for the record. I gave him a shout on instagram and we set up a writing session to try and get a song for the album. We are both big fans of The Radio Dept. and wanted to make something that felt like it came from their first record “Lesser Matters”.

We wrote the song pretty quickly and within a day I had decided I didn’t like it and pretty much scrapped it. Then a couple of days later I decided to give it another go and recorded real drums instead of using the drum machine we had laid down in the session. Once I had done that I began to get really into it and finished off the rest of the song that day. The whole
song is about a person that’s questioning their whole existence like their Job, social life, where they live and thinking they’d be in a better position by this age. The line “You’re selling everything you own” is meant to represent the person finally deciding not to settle and take the step forward in doing something different with themselves.

lyrics

Dont think too much
Understand it only takes a while your down
I feel it all
Something takes hold
Every time there’s people like us
Tell me when you’re seeing the fall out from this

Your skin and bones
Questioning it all, again
But its so hard to find the time
Hard to find it even when you feel like you’ve won
Leave it on the side by its own to fall out

You’re selling everything you own
Hows it feeling?
You never seemed to find a home
Nothings real now
You’re selling everything you own
Hows it feeling?
Hows it feeling now?

Hows it feeling now?
